The Miami Carol City Senior High Alumni Association's (MCC Alumni Association) Inaugural Scholarship Gala was a huge success. This venture from the MCC Alumni Association was one of the largest endeavors on behalf of an alumni group. The Association awarded 5, $1000.00 scholarships to graduating seniors at Miami Carol City Senior High. The event held at the Pembroke Pines Country Club on Saturday, April 29, 2017 was attended and sponsored by some of the School's prestigious alumni and a host of community support such as Miami Gardens' Mayor Oliver Gilbert and City Officials, Florida Memorial University's Vice President of Student Affairs, and MDCPS Regional Board Member, Steve Gallon. The Gala honored the seniors along with their parents. The event featured renowned alumni poets and a performance by the school's Diamond Dancers.
In total, over one hundred guests and sponsors helped the Association celebrate and award these outstanding students. Stay tuned, next year we plan to provide an even greater experience for students and supporters.
